Sublimation turns the ink into a gas that bonds into the badge's coating instead of sitting on top of it. There is nothing on the surface to scratch off, so a metal badge still looks new after a year of being clipped on and thrown in a bag. That is why hotels, clinics, dealerships and restaurants buy metal once rather than reprinting plastic every season.
Anodised aluminum with radius corners, in gloss white, matte white, or brushed silver. White gives the truest color for photos and logos. Brushed silver lets the metal read as metal, with the print sitting into the grain, which is the look most people picture when they ask for a metal badge.

Frequently asked questions
Can you print the back?
No. The sublimation coating is on the front face only and the reverse is bare aluminum. If you need both sides printed, ask us about two sided tags instead, which are made specifically for it.
Metal or plastic, which should I buy?
Metal if the badge is worn daily and represents the brand, plastic if it is for an event or a large one off run. Metal costs more per badge and lasts years; FRP plastic is roughly 20% cheaper and perfect for conferences.
Will a magnet hold on a heavy apron or jacket?
On most uniforms yes. On thick canvas, denim aprons or leather, go with the pin. We will tell you honestly if we think the magnet will slide.
Do I get to approve a proof before you print?
Yes, and it is free. Every order gets a digital proof by email and nothing prints until you approve it. Most proofs go out within a few business hours.
What file types can I upload?
PNG, JPG, PDF, SVG, AI, and EPS all work. Vector files print sharpest, but our art team cleans up whatever you have at no charge. You can also build your design from scratch with the online designer.
How fast will I get my order?
Standard production is 7 business days. Need it faster, 4 to 5 days is 50% more and 3 days is 100% more. Turnaround on a rush order is confirmed by our team after you order, we will reach out shortly to lock in the date. These times do not include shipping. Everything prints in our Los Angeles shop. Flat rate shipping is $6.95, free over $250.
Can I reorder the same design later?
Yes. We keep your artwork and order details on file, so a reorder takes about a minute. Order any quantity, even a single replacement badge for a new hire.
